Default STP of DMG - Some details

Assalam-o-alaikum!

Well, CTP stands for "COMMON TRAINING PROGRAMME", i.e. the training one has to undergo at the CIVIL SERVICES ACADEMY, WALTON, LAHORE. It is called COMMON TRAINING because all the css-qualifiers of one batch join the academy together for a COMBINED training programme. The main purpose of the CTP is :
1. Promoting provincial harmony via providing all the css-qualifiers, from various regions of the country, an opportunity to stay together for a period of 7-10 months.

STP stands for "Specialized Training Programme".....
After the completion of the CTP, one has to undergo a Training Programme in one's ministry/group. That particular training programme is the STP.
It is different for all the groups; starts at separate dates, duration is different for all, subjects are different etc.

STP of DMG
The Academy is situated on the Mall Road, Lahore, near Gymkhana. The DG is Gen. Shaami (Same DG for CSA and DMG ACADEMY). During the STP, DMG officers go through the following subjects:
1. Modern Management
2. Urban Governance and Town Planning
3. Budgeting
4. Public Finance
5. Macro Economics
6. Law of Evidence
7. Code of Civil Procedure (CPC)
8. Code of Criminal Procedure (CRPC)
9. Pakistan Penal Code
10. Islamic Law of Inheritence
11. Mohamaddan Law
12. Land Revenue Act
13. Land Acquisition Act
14. Punjab Tenancy Act
15. Colonization Act
16. Zakat and Usher Ordinance
17. Local Governement Ordinance
18. Transfer of Immovable Property Act
19. Constitutional Law
20. Auditing
21. Taxation
22. e-governance etc
and some other subjects etc.

The STP of DMG is a 10-12 month programme, which includes 4-5 study tours and attachments. Not all of the above mentioned is "taught" in the lecture room. Extension lectures are delivered by renowned scholars/senior officers.....some of the subjects have to be studied on one's own.

Riding, swimming and morning PT are mandatory for all....Attachment with Elite Force for a couple of days or so is also an imp. feature of the STP.

Best of Luck!
ALLAH HAFIZ!
