I would recommend all of u not to go for maths cuz as a policy, very tight marking is done in maths so as not to create disparity in the marks of candidates to the advantage of maths students. Even if u solve all questions correctly, u wont b awarded 200. Secondly, maths is tough. And the effort is not worth it. You can get more marks by studying much less in British or european history. I m also an engineer but didnt opt for maths. I went for chemistry and had to suffer. I took CS and stats and they r much easier.

Best of luck !!

I am a jonior member of the forum, have been away for a time being.

Nauman, There are somethings that I agree and others I don't
Like you said, "You can get more marks by studing much less in British or eupean history". You might be right but the thing to consider is some people (such as me) can study maths for hours and for them to study history and all these things is a "though job". This is all about the interest. And who says maths is tough.
Having my favourite subject mathematics, I really feel offened when you say "maths is tough". I would rather incourage more and more people or atleast hina_fastnu, cja_589 to go with mathematics.

I can be wrong, but do let me know if I am. Regards.

Salam. I totally agree with Nauman, but it couldn't be left, i know & understand clearly mathematics & likewise subject gave u good score but other then CSS examination. CSS is not a game of impression to impress other by adopting such types of subject. I even can opted mathematics. but it will not give u good score, because fow example u need to prove "Every limit that exist is unique" & even u solved it clearly & u have great command but unfortunately u have made only 1 single or a least minor mistake unconsciously which u can't overview & move for next question. u will not only awarded ZEROOOOOOOOOO marks but all types of question examiner will be careful in checking ur paper.

I don't agree with u. How can u say this. Is there any proof that examiners do so. This possibility is in all the subjects. I've till now read remarks of the members who could opt Maths but they did not . But where r the members who opted, attempted very well n could not clear just because of marks giving system. they should share thier experience.

Well that is the prob u see!! While there r many who ll tell u not to go fr Maths in spite having background of the same but never came across anyone who have opted for it. I couldn't find anyone even having a bad experience of Maths let alone a contended one

I,ve couple of my friends who opted for it nd have cleared 09 written. So u pplz gotta wait till final result to see how did they went in Maths

I am also planning to opt for Mathematics (applied). I think the reason behind low scores in mathematics is the high expectations of examiner, not that the examiner is extra strict in these matters.

Anyways, if someone happen to meet a guy who has had applied mathematics as an optional subject and has got the marksheet already then please share.

~All the best!
