Arrow From Qualified Professioanls to CSP Officers

Dear friends,
I have been looking specifically for qualified professionals like Doctors, Engineers, Management/Accountant Professionals etc. who are serving or made attempts to be a CSP Officer. Your experience sharing about how different this career path is from your specific profession, the pros/cons of it as per your experience, your feeling/satisfaction after joining/making attempts and any regrets about taking such steps etc. Also an important aspect is the salary package and career prospects.

Hi Zohaib, I must admit my experience of giving CSS is quite "new" as i have just given the exam this year and am waiting for the results...I am an MBA from CBM Karachi and was working as a Management Trainee for an MNC Cadbury Scheweppes...I worked there for a period of 10 months and must admit enjoyed the "corporate" life...There were several reasons why i decided to give CSS and believe me mooney was most definately not one of them...The salary packages that you get in the corporate sector are unmatchable and increasingly companies have been offering great benefits too..but then one needs to ask oneself "what do I want to achieve at the end of my life" ..what do you want to look back at when your 60-65...what are your goals and ambitions...

More on this next time...

Cool

Dear, its a v good topic that u hv started bt did'nt get any good response.I would ask the seniors to share their views.
I m a qualified chartered accountant, worked in UK for a year and now i m working in middle east.
I have a strong feeling to appear for CSS may b in nxt couple of years. The main think that urges me towards it is not the money of course. As said by the Shahzad that money figure much high in corporate world as compare to css.Its the FEELING OF PRIDE in urself after css, that u r serving the country,u r the 1 who can take decisions for the betterment of the country. As a doctor, engrr,or CA,,u hav a v little chance to b a figure among all.who can hav influence to do better........i must say that.......MIGHT IS RIGHT.....so if u hv MIGHT ,,u can use ur RIGHT for right reason.
1 thing i know is that the highly professional ppl dont go for money in css.

Seniors,kindly continue this thread.

i m a doctor but i passed css last year. it was my ambition to be a csp since my childhood.
the simple reason behind this is the service 2 humanity. after becoming a csp, u ve enough powers in ur hands that u alone can bring a change if not on a large scale, even on a smaller scale. there are hundreds of unknown bureaucrats whose services saved thousands of lives.
u look into the duaa of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.s) in which, he says"o God, give me authority......." and even the duaa of our Holy Prophet(PBUH)"........ and make me SULTAN -E- NASEER"
both these r the parts of Holy Verses of HOLY QURAN which clearly show that in the worldly affairs, if u wanna bring a positive change, u MUST have some authority with u. BUT THIS AUTHORITY SHOULD BE USED WITH RESPONSIBILITY AS WE WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE 4 IT ON THE DOOMS DAY.
I think, a doctor serves humanity in a true sense, but the impact of his services can not be generalized. on the other hand, the sevices of the administrators do bring generalized effects on society. e.g, if an ASP keeps law n order intact, all the other professionals will be able 2 perform their duties freely. so the credit of smooth functioning of the society will also go to the ASP. or if a DDO(r), keeps the prices of commodites under control, the life of the general public will become easier. so the credit will go 2 the DDO(r)......and so on.
As far as salary package is concerned, dont look at the cash only, look into the whole package of a csp which inludes 900 free calls/month, luxurious accomodations, servants, vehicles with green plates and free petrol 4 duty, TA,DA , medical facilities, graceful offices with full staff, cash prizes on good performances, membership of clubs at extremely consessional rates, utility bills r also free on some key posts,....... and so on ( all this on the first day of posting in grade 17)
yar aur zindagi mein kia chaheye. u serve humanity with a reasonable life of ur own
thanks
