i just wantedd to know about the progress of the successsful candidates of css 2008 that when will they get into the academy and secondly, when will the result of css 2009 be announceddd??

Finally qualified candidates of 2008 are still waiting for their allocations .
Result of 2009 will be announced in 5-6 months .

After our exams (CSS-2008) we were also thinking on the same lines... expecting the things to move reasonably fast... but you can see we are still waiting for the allocations...
I think candidates of CSS-2009 should learn from our lesson... have a loooottttt of patience...
FPSC is going to test your nerves much harder than the exams itslef...
and yes, our training is expected to start from Dec'09 or Jan'10... lets wait and see...

5-6 months is a very long time somebody told me its 2-3months if things are not delayed

Our result ( 37th common ) was announced on September the 2nd 2008.So you can see that it took almost six months.The candidates who have appeared in css 2009 should not pin their hope for an early result. I think that it will take minimum 4-5 months.

What to do in the Intervening Period

Written exam is not an end but only a means to an end. One has to appear an psychological tests and final Viva after that. So i would suggest all of you to keep yourself abreast with the latest developments they may be Local,International,Political etc. Keep in touch with your Optional subjects and try to make up for what you thought could or should have been done.
Css is an uncertain enterprise that is one can never be sure what will be the result or how well will he/she perfrom. So keep in touch with the current affairs etc and keep on studying so that you people will not rue wastage of precious time as i did .

There's an intervening period of 21 months of joblessness. So you must learn that art of patience from Arif Rao because your ordeal has just started.

Written result of CSS 2009 will take 6 months or more. The volume of candidates is higher this time.

is there any regulation and rule that if u left from CADET COLLEGE MILITARY COLLEGE JHELUM ,u r disqualified???

Its not interview rather its investigation. When one has passed the Written portion of css one has to go through Investigation by Three Agencies. Currently IB, Special Branch and CID conduct these inquiries. The agencies basically check if a candidate has criminal records etc registered against his/her name or not. And other security related issues.

I am not sure but i think that this does not make any difference on one's candidature.

I had a bit of an idea of what course of actions these things could take...
So, I only took a month's leave from my job for written exams... and continuing it since then...
Otherwise... sitting idle and just waiting for this whole lot of time would have nearly killed me... hehehe
