Post 38th commoners plz help
well ppl im one from the 38th commoners. I got 136 position and hoping to get MLC coz i placed it number 4
well can any of u answer my following ?

* Do girls get postings near or in their hometowns??
* Will our saturdays and sundays will be off when we will become csps or are
we going to get only a sunday holiday???
* What will be our job timings when we will b csps??? 9-5 or 8-3????

Dear friend,..

1. yes, being a femal you will have this previlage...You can be posted at the area of your choice......MLC is a very good group...

1-DMG
2-Income Tax
3-Customs
4-MLC
5-Info


are u sure abt this that girls get the postings in their hometowns??

@ brainy, are you punjab domiciled? what is your merit number among female candidates from punjab? i think you'll get Income Tax easily as there're two women quota seats for ITG...

yess im punjab domiciled and my overall merit is 136 and in punjab its 102????

but the question is still there, regardless of the group do women get posting in their hometowns??

Postings in the Civil Services are very diverse brainy but don't worry, the facilities are exceptional.

Saturdays and Sundays are off but not so for PSP.

Job timings are mainly 9 am onwards up till 5 pm.

kk i need another suggestion!! soo plzz help specially the seniors:

* Im currently working in a multinational offering a very attractive salary package!!!

* If postings are unreliable in civil services for girls one cant drag her husband with her everywhere after marriage!!

* U cant resign for 3 yrs once u have joined civil services. what if u cant cope up with ur career n family at that time??

*Im hoping to get income tax, customs or MLC..

WHAT SHOULD I DOOO?????

@ Brainy
well regarding you quaries i will say that in Income tax and customs you can spend you entire service in lahore.Bcz in these groups specially in income tax even the male officers can spend thier entire tenure in lahore provided if they wish soo.
Moreover the uncertainity in postings are more in PSP and dmg.Being a female i think that u can easily manage to live in lahore .
And regarding the salary structure you should think well bcz the civil service DO NOT offer attractive salaries.
the rest of the decision is yours

1. Salary is not at all attractive in civil service, but even then people join it. And I did too.

2. I do not know abt ML&C, but in ITG,Customs, Audit & Accounts, Info, girls can remain in one city throughout their service.

3. The compulsory period is 3 years after completion of training, total of 5 years.

4. One can always take long leave if she is not finding it easy to cope with job, family and husband. Resignation is not a good choice after toiling so hard.

Facilities are not always exceptional even for the top-ranked groups such as PSP and DMG. It depends from posting to posting and city to city.

Saturdays are off only for temporary period. 6 day week can be restored any time after October.

And official timings these days are 8-4(with two holidays a week) and 8-3 otherwise.
