good luck fellas,

Sharing some of the things, which i have learnt in civil services,

Firstly, try to keep up your individuality. Bureaucracy is termed as steel frame/back bone of our every system and one get steel at his/her backbone as well, but its better to remain human.

Secondly, its better not to use pull /reference and defer it at all cost, but if it is inevitable thn there is no need to be shy. Because one cannot build an island of honesty in the sea of corruption. However, there are still some idiots who do not try to use the pull thing at any cost e.g. there is an officer, who could had used pull to get full funding from government to complete some course, but he did not and sitting at Tokyo (the costliest city of Asia) spending ample money from his own pocket

Thirdly, try to remain honest and believe in three things, justice, fairplay and public service. One can mint money/make wealth through lot of ways, but at the end of the day we all have to rest in six by three feet grave. And an upright and honest officer is always remembered with good words. .....

I totally agree with TS Awan..One cannot be blindly and blatantly honest in Civil Service..And you people will get the very first taste of it in the CTP..It really can tame wild horses :p
