Default Country study tour??
Heloo!

I have heard there is a country study tour after CTP. I want to know what sort of tour is it and what are the places where probationers visit? 40th CTP had CST in March. Any updates?

All the probationers are back to CSA after thrilling and memorable experiences of CST! Now, CST Presentations will be held from 18th March to 20th March, after which probationers will undergo military attachment from 21st March to 31st March 2013.

Yes, there is a country study tour (CST). Probationers of 40th common have just returned to CSA after completing this tour. The purpose of this tour is to study/analyze the working of district administration, public sector institutions, industry, culture, service delivery in health and education sector, law and order of different parts/areas of Pakistan. The tour also provides healthy recreational opportunities to the probationers. It is full of fun and memories! The probationers have to submit a report and give presentation after returning from the tour.

Probationers go to different areas in form of groups. Normally a group consists of 15-16 members. Probationers are not sent to their own provinces; i.e a probationer from Punjab may be sent to any of the provinces/areas including AJK except Punjab.

With the Civil Services Reforms of 1973, a new system of Common Training Program (CTP) was introduced and all of the occupational groups (12 at that time) were required to go through a mandatory combined training at Civil Services Academy (CSA), Lahore. The batch of officers who attended CSA in 1973 is recognized as 1st Common.
Currently, CSS 2011 inductees (40th Common) are being trained at CSA. Those selected in CSS 2012 will make 41st Common and so on.

It would sound silly, but kindly guide me if the probationers have an option whether to go/not to go on CST?
