In 2011 the basic salary of bps 17 was 1600-1700..........can anyone tell the basic salary of bps-17 after the 2012 budget.........regards

I think according to the new budget the new basic salary of BPS-17 is 20000 Rupees Approximately......

The last Pay scale revision has been made since 07/2011. The initial Basic pay of BPS 17 was fixed at 16,000 plus 1,200 annual increment including other allowances as permissible.

In addition to that during 2012, the pay scale has not been revised. However 20% of Basic pay has been granted with the name of Adhoc relief Allowance.

so what the new basic and total becomes .........in 2011 total was about 37-38k

The basic salary is still Rs. 16,000/- month for a new entrant. There was an additional 20% ad-hoc relief allowance of Rs. 3200/- announced in 2012 which is appended with basic salary and other allowance. After adding up all allowances, the salary comes to be around 27,000.

Yes, roughly this figure is correct. However, there is massive variation from ministry to ministry and from department to department. For example, police officers of BPS-17 get additional allowances, while FBR officers get double the basic pay which increases their salaries. If an officer is sent on deputation to another department, he receives an additional Deputation allowance. It also varies from province to province in case of Police Service. Some posts in public sector companies may pay more too.
