Default Query regarding total number of vacancies and and distribution btwn the provinces

Pardon me if i m putting up my question at a wrong place but since i am new to forum i want to know that how many candidates are selected through the CSS exam? Secondly is their any share of province in the selection criteria??? i will be be grateful for the answer. Thnx

Number of candidates selected depends upon the number of seats announced which vary from year to year. Yes every province has its own percentage quota. For example for details of vacancies announcement in 2011 you can visit this link:

Why KPK has comparatively less number of vacancies??? Is it based on population ?
or on other things as literacy rate/quality of education etc?
