Thumbs down PSP No Match of DMG

First of all i say hearty congratulation to all those who have qualified CSS and special congratulations to those who have been allocated to the DMG.
In this thread, i would like all the forum member to comment on the various groups of CSS for the purpose of general knowledge.
With the new political setup, we read daily in the National Dailies that the Local bodies would either be abolished or reformed to the extent that they will exercise powers only with regard to developmental projects.
In NWFP, RCOs have been created for the purpose of improving law and order and in this regard, DMG has take a superior position over Police in the latter's domain. This pattern will translate down to the district and tehsil level.Punjab has started studying this system for to be implemented in Punjab.
I personally feel that is the local bodies are not abolished at all, it is difficult that fresh local bodies could be elected at all once the current ones expire their tenure.
Career wise, DMG is far better as far as vertical and horizental mobility is concerned. In police, one may reach to 20, while in DMG, everyone will reach 22.
It is planed that one ASP would be posted in every thana due to the worsening law and order situation and thus he would be no different from SHO.
the PPP is even talking about the revival of Megistracy......

FSP may have an edge over DMG (in monetary terms only, salary wise) but it's not the case with C&T.
All depends upon the attitude of the aspirant.

But the real powerhouse of civil services is DMG. and in the current scenario, PSP also falls in this category.

FSP is good as far the mental grooming and sophisticated lifestyle is concerned but keep in mind that lateral induction takes place in FSP up to 50%. Career foreign servants often do not get lucrative foreign assignments. Such assignments are often assigned to retired military officers and other due to political compensation.
DMGs were mini kings and i agree that that era wont return but just have a look of the ground realities and you would feel that there is no other option but to revert to the commissioner system. look at the price hike and law and order...
ASPs may not be reduced to a single thana but the fact is that the number of thanas under their control are going to be reduced...this has already taken place in the cantonment areas.

You have started a controversial topic. Every group has its own charm. Its all about personal inclination. One who wants to join his desired group will never accept other's hegemony. Moreover, we should pray to Allah to let us serve in the department most suitable for us in all respects.

I agree with Mr. Gurmani. Waisay sub ko mil kar Pakistan k liye Kaam karna chahiye. Pakistan hai to hum hain. Every group has its merits and demerits. One should not join any particular group for one's own sake but for the sole purpose of serving Pakistan.

I hope motivation would remain the same after 10 years from now on...
Relish for power and money had molded many civil servants but i'm sure it will not deter ur impluse and stimulation..
