Default Specialized Training Program (STP) & Representation of 4 provinces

I would like to invite the opinions of members on the concentration of most of the STP academies / campuses / centers in Lahore except few.

Is there any special reason to make Lahore a focal point for all these trainings? Why can not other provinces play a role in this training scheme. Why can't these afford such training centers?

Won't it be a best step to give sense of participation to all the provinces in this activity? Won't it make federation more strong if academies are dispersed in all the provinces so that a sense of deprivation and dessentment can be removed from the other provinces?

Positive opinions will be more than welcome.

I seriously do not see any thing concrete in your statement.

As far as STP academies are concerned, here is a list which i think will clarify some of the situation.

STP's Held at Islamabad

1. Police Service of Pakistan
2. Foreign Services of Pakistan
3. Information Service
4. Commerce and Trade Group
5. Postal Group
6. Office Management Group

STP'S held at Lahore

1. District Management Group
2. Income Tax Group
3. Audit and Accounts Group
4. Pakistan Railways

STP held at Karachi

1. Pakistan customs and Excise Group

As you can all see that most of the STP's are held at Islamabad the federal capital of Pakistan and the one's held at lahore are there just because they were always there since long.

It is pertinent to mention that the Staff college is held simultaneously at Lahore, Peshawar and Karachi.

I can not see the reason that we have to bring provincialism in every discourse of our discussion.

I did not mean to hurt or belittle any one. These are my observations. All of you are welcomed to disagree.

Regards

If you don't see any reason for bringing provincialism then it would be better to shift all these four STPs from Lahore to Islamabad and one from Karachi. So that each STP can be centralized.

Islamabad is the best avenue for all the trainings. No contradiction will be generated on Islamabad option. Authorities should revisit their decissions.
