Question Confusion about Life in FSP

AOA
A friend of mine told me that after joining FSP through CSS, every officer has a choice to select any desired country for different language courses or training for 2 years and he gets admission in any good university of that country and department provides him a house, a 7 series BMW or Mercedes car having 2 country flags, with 2 guards and a driver and $6000/month.
Is it true?
It's unbelievable for me.
Any respected member from FSP or senior members please clear this point.

lolz...its not true...you do get language of your choice depending upon your merit and then you go there as a student...you get pay, foreign allowance and a decent apartment from government side, but as far as bmw 7 series, driver, guards, 6000 dollars ... not at all bro....ur salary is around 2000-2500 dollars there....

Default Confused

I do not understand. The language selection is based on merit. Is this the same case with posting. Someone from this thread told me first foreign posting is on merit and another told me it is the decision of the ministry. Please help

Yes language course and 1st posting of country depends on your merit.
Suppose there are 29 candidates of FSP, they will be given 29 different countries of posting by the ministry where seat is vacant.
If there is no seat vacant in USA, US will not be there in choice of 29 countries.
If you are the topper in FSP group, the country u choose aming thise given 29 countries will be given to u.
So merit will matter.
Suppose if there is Australia, if the topper choses Australia, he will get it. It will be like choice of occupational groups of CSS. The toppers will get what they want ( from countries given by ministry).
After ur 1st posting, it will be ministries choice but usually brilliant people remain at good countries.
I hope now everything is clear.
