For FSPs from KP

I am interested in choosing FSP as my preference but after much reading I am little skeptical of the choice lately. However I'd still want to opt for it if I could get an answer to these few questions here.

A friend asked me if I know a single FSP from KP that is or has been an ambassador abroad? His question was alluding to the idea that promotions and nominations are done through strong references and affiliation with the posting authorities.

Secondly, what are the postings like for people from KP? Especially for people that have never had any friend/relative/associate on any degree in the office when they first joined?

Can those from KP list down their foreign stations for reference?

Thanks guys

To be frank, humen to filhaal CSS pass karne ke lalay pare hue hen aur aap abhi se ambassador ban'ne ki tension liye bethe hen? lol. Plzz take this lightly.

Ok coming to ur querry, I know a guy from D i khan (my hometown), he is currently posted in Russia. I don't know his designation but he has been in FSP for maybe 8 or 10 years now.

Based on my own little experience, if u do get to serve in FSP (or anyother department for that matter) you would have thousand more things to worry about. Being from KP would be least of ur worries. this is my understanding. Those who are already serving in fsp can guide u better.

Meri jaan agar aap ne pura career afghanistan, india or nigeria mein hi guzarna hoga to behter hai koi aur occupational group prefer kiya jae, ya koi aur career prefer ki jae. Or ye baat CSS ko paas karne ke liye, or us ke liye tayari karne ke liye ik intihai ehem baat hai. Ab agar ambassador banna bhi mushkil hogaya hai or aap ko itna najaiz lag raha hai to phir FSP mein ja ke kya karna hai? Puri zindagi sirf Analysis likhni hai?

Your first worry should be preparing and clearing written with good score. Once you have cleared exam and are in position to choose, only then you should worry about these things.
Coming to you query, yes there would be nepotism in foreign postings but within few years of service you will also have made some contacts. Apart from that merit also plays it role. So don't worry; you will not be posted forever in Uganda :D
