Default Lateral entry in Foreign Service

Hi,

I’m a graduate of LUMS and interested in further studies in the conflict studies/management. I will be turning 30 next year and have been think about giving my CSS exams in 2019 (one and only shot). I have been told that there’s such a thing as a special cadre and one can get into foreign service through lateral entry in one’s 30s after pursuing advanced studies.

Any information about special cadres, etc would be great.
