1. What salary do you get while in Pakistan?

2. After initial training you are posted in Ministry of Foreign Affairs for how long and when do you embark on your first diplomatic mission?

3. Are there any courses you have to undergo for future career progression or
how do you progress?

4. Is Ambassador senior most? what comes next

Ambassador is the highest rank for Pakistan Embassies abroad, where as high commisioner is also the rank of ambassador but only in common wealth countries they are known as high commisioners. Permanent rep means any rep who is permanent rep of any country in an organzation like Pakistan perm rep to UN etc...not a rank/designation but sort of job description

Question

What are the prospects for Army officers who join Foreign services; is there any cliche against them in the department as they do not follow the normal induction procedure?

No cliche...Prospects are same for everyone. A lot of top officals including directors and spec secretary of foreign service are ex inductees at the moment....They are exempted from papers but gave viva and psycologist tests for induction between them. So after induction , starting from ctp, stp, fpoe , its all your merit which matters. By the way...am also an army officer inductee

well bro its a long debate... army has a lot of merits over fsp at the moment starting from salary, to housing, batman, medical facilities and the list continues.... fsp has its merits when u are out of Pakistan and international exposure... it depends what priorities u have set in ur life...differ from person to person
