Default FSP officer salary while abroad

Hey All,

I would like to ask what is the salary an FSP officer draws while in some foreign country. I have heard that its in dollars, so is it equal to the dollar amount that another grade-17 officer will be getting, or is it different.

Does it differ from country to country, or same?

Any authentic info about what exactly a newly appointed FSP officer gets on his first posting abroad, including the salary and the benefits.

Currently salary is equal all around the globe. Its 1700 dollars for a 3rd secretary (17 grade officer). Entertainment allowance is 200-240 dollars. Apartment allowance is 1200 dollars in language course. While in posting salary remains the same that is 1700 dollars but apartment and entertainment allowance gets double.

Means a person serving as third secretary ll receive 1700 + 450+ 2400 dollars in total ??
What abt Health insurance n schooling of children ?? Are they free of cost or onw has to pay from above mentioned amount which he receives.

Salary and entertainment allowance is given to the officer but Apartment amount is paid directly to the owner of the apartment. Which means an officer can not rent a 1000 dollars apartment and spend the remaining 1400 somewhere else.
Language Course = Small Apartment.
Posting = Medium/Big Apartment.
Two kids education(school+college) is free.
Both officer and spouse have medical insurance.

And when the officer is posted in Pakistan, the salary he draws is equal to the normal salary of other Govt officers, as per his grade?

In general

Foreign Service officer gets BPS-17 pay in Pakistan as is applicable to all other groups.

In posting abroad, as per my knowledge its not same all around. It depends on station to station and is updated after some years. Like in USA , Brussels, London which are expensive cities, pay is different then in other cities which are less expensive. Medical insurance and study for 2 children as mentioned in free all around

Default Other Departments

If an employer in other departments (not a CSP) on BPS-17 is deputed somewhere overseas (for whatever reasons), would the pay scale (1700 USD) remain same? i.e. same for all persons while posted abroad. I am not talking about other benefits like apartment allowance, insurance, children education etc. if anyone have experienced that.
