Default Commercial/Economic Attaches

Can foreign service (FSP) officials be posted as Economic/Commercial attaches abroad ?

Well donot know the exact rule about it, but as of my own knowlegde Commercial attaches/councilors come from other service groups than foreign service.

Usually the psots are advertised and people from some service groups apply and then sit in an exam. Thats how they are selected now. Foreign service is usually not in for this post, a large portion of the commercial councilors are to be taken from the Commerce & Trade Group.
