Inspite of all drawbacks,I'm determined to mention FSP as my top preference

Variety is spice of life

Life in FSP will be very charming and interesting

The information provided above is with utmost honesty and accuracy...No I am not from FSP....it was my 3rd choice but luckily i got my first preference...I think for male it can be a third option after DMG/PSP (depending on one's aptitude) but fot females as far as i would recommend FSP should never be an option...Ofcourse I have 26 of my batch mates in FSP and i share the service details with them....mostly all commoners hav basic knowledge about all services...

Ofcourse for cross verification you can talk to other Commoners as well....but remember FSPis also a service like all other 11 groups in CSS....posting/transfer is on reference the more u move towards senior grades...same is in PSP n DMG...coz same political heads are there in the Govt....There are no doubt that there are alot of positive points of FSP but nothing is perfect in this wotld...the draw backs of FSP hav been mentioned above ....if u t cmfrtable wid that then do go ahead...

But positives are that it is a neat n clean service, low corruption, intl exposure, quality of life, high level intl contacts with business tycoons,Govt heads and diplomats all over the world...but one should b realistic and must consider all aspects of thing b 4 going for that...sorry for the facts:if u dint like them...I wish u good luck, i hope u'll make a good choice

At the end of the day...its you who has to take the final decision...If you give more weightage to benefits n positive points of FSP then i think you should go for it...whether being a male or a female...ofcourse some people do have FSP as their 1st preference...so dont get discouraged coz every service has draw backs...like in PSP n DMG we hav too much involvement of politicians and then this media activisim n on the other hand judiciary giving the tough time to bureaucrats nw a days...and everyone calling PSP n DMG as corrupt etc...so we enjoy power in DMG n PSP , it is against a price that has to be paid...similarly there are a lot of positives of FSP but they are there against a price yo be paid which is in the shape of some cons which is v natural and it the same in all services...all services have there pros n cons...but it is you who should decide that what is required as far as you are concerned...look at it wid ur own lense

Yes one will stay in the hostel room/suite with his family or if he has enough resources, he can even rent a private home in Islamabad....depends on officer to officer but if you wanna pay just PKR 5250 per month then you will have to stay in the hostel room and that hostel is called "FOH" it is located at Margalla Road in F-5

Families are allowed to stay at FOH but unfortunately either there is ONE room or two rooms in FOH facility....so it normally is hard to manage in a two rooms suite...

Thanks dear very informative thread indeed....
Kindly tell me one thing, on what grounds an officer of FSP is posted abroad, I mean what is the criterion for postings.... ? Does it totally depend upon the competent authorities., that they can send you either England or Iceland ..? or some sort of personal ability also counts for it.?
