How long does one language course last?
How does the course you took up affect the place you get posted?

Like if one takes up Arabic, would they always get posted in Arab countries?

Yes, they do.
Varies from language to language. Usually it takes 6-12 months.
It sets the course for your first few postings, later it doesn't affect much.
No. They can still be posted elsewhere around the world.

Its compulsory.... duration 10-12 months.....you are given preference for that slot but it is not at all a criteria for postings

How much months are generally between the css exam and the result?

I know this is off topic but would like to know anyway.

Usually it takes 6 to 9 months till written result & another 5-6 months till Final Result which includes viva as well.

Where can one find the list of languages that are offered? Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic and French are the obvious ones. However, are other languages such as Turkish and Italian also offered?

Don't know about Italian but the current Ambassador to Turkey, Muhammad Haroon Shaukat, went for the Turkish language course in his days. You can find videos of him speaking Turkish with Turk media on youtube. So if no other informed answer comes to your question then I would assume from the above that many languages, other than the most obvious ones, are available.
