Yes, they join in Islamabad for STP at Foreign Services Academy. It's duration is 6 months and after that the new aspirants are being sent for language training abroad whether this is German, Russian, Arabic, Greek, Turkish, Chinese or Korean. After language training they are usually send to Foreign Office and handed over some desks. After half and year they are usually sent to foreign countries as third secretaries.

STP classes at foreign Service Academy started on July 6th 2012, and ended on 14th December 2012. But the training continues, The probationers have to go through exams, then again refresher classes for the Final Passing out, then country study tour and area study presentations. The training will take 3 more months. The probationers who take the top ten positions will be sent for a 6 week course in Holland. Rest will join the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
So the total duration is 9 months.
