15 lak salary?
O bhai meray, itna toh USA ka ambassador bhi nhi kamata :p
I have never heard a police officer serve as a diplomat. They do go for courses though. There is another possibility that the DIG retired and joined a political party and was posted as an ambassador. Ambassadors to important nations are usually political appointees rather than career diplomats due to the importance of these nations.

Mere bhai css bhi karna hai aur salary bhi poochte ho....Remember one thing Civil services mai salary tagri nahi hoti warna har saal potential candidates hazaron mai nahi lakhon mai hote...

Foreign service is no different..jab aap Pakistan mai posted honge toa utni hi salary hogi jitni sab officers ki hoti hai us cadre mai....Yani grade 17 ki 35-40 hazar...Incase he is posted abroad the salary is in dollars as rupee is useless in a foreign country....shyed 1700 se lekar 2000 dollar tak hoti hai...Lekin my friend agar aap kabhi bahar gaye ho yaqeen mano ye ziyadah salary nahi....Wahan ke hasab se ye bhi kam hai sirf utni jitna guzara hosake...USA mai toa odd jobs karke bhi aadmi hafte ka 1000 dollar kama leta hai...

So forget about salary and focus on other aspects of CSS...

The salary is not that low, since diplomats in the USA, Western Europe and Japan and South Korea are paid a bit more than other countries due to the high costs of living. Secondly, rent is paid in full along with medical insurance. Thirdly, they hardly pay any taxes. But of course one cannot expect to become wealthy if he joins the civil service. Private sector pays far more.

Bhai jaan what is the salary of an Ambassador? I have been looking for this piece of info since forever and I think my search is finally coming to an end in the form of an answer from a very informed person i.e. your respected self. Very hopeful for an answer.

No. he must have appeared in CSS again. No one can get his transfer directly from department to department. As far as salary concerned, now a days its not a big deal in USA or any other country to earn 2000$.Even non- qualified can earn this amount. so you can expect his salary from 3000$ or much higher. if you are converting it in PK Rs then offcourse it should be higher than CSP officers in Pak. But tell you one thing, very few will join Civil Serveries for money, most of them join for pride and authority.

During 2013, Ambassador Jamil Ahmed Khan was serving as the Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE. Yes, he was from the Police and also served as Police Chief Karachi, but his first ambassadorial posting (in Tripoli) and the second (in Abu Dhabi) were both after his retirement, thus political appointments.
