Default tax collection is hala or haram

dear all,
money is a primary need but it is always mandatory to pre-verify if we are erarning a halal or haram amount of money. While studying Islamic Economic system I came across that TAX is not halal in Islamic system. There was a serious ban on tax and quoted in one place that "Tax-collector will never enter to paradise". CSS is a prestigious position and have a prestigious departments of Inland Revenue Systems and Custom. I will request those who have concrete knowledge on it, that if tax and tax-collection forbidden in Islam then how come IRS and Custom be a halal mean of service?

Jizya is only for non muslims. As to tax collection ulemas have debated about it.Some state that if tax is collected to be spent purely ob the welfare of people and nation building then its halal.Consider if we dont pay tax to the government;how will we maintain a standing professional army and in the absence of proper defence system our enemies will anihiliate us.This debate has to be considered from different viewpoints.A member well versed in islamic law can shed detailed light on this subject.
