No more guesses....here is a complete n authentic brief about this department:

- Priority wise it was comming 4th for the last couple of years but this time people with 23rd positib are joining it by giving it top most priority.

- Job Nature: Initially U get posted as deputy CEO for which there are only 2 posts in walton and in clifton, as additional CEO in any bigger cantt. or as an additional MEO, or as CEO of a smaller cantt.

- Additional CEO has to perform certain administrative as well as quasi judicial tasks, he also work as rent controller.

-Additional MEO/MEO- is the military estates officer and has to deal with all sort of land matters and litigation in the Cantt. area.

- The cantt. board comprises of different branches headed by the CEO. These include sanitation, horticulture, taxation, legal,engineering, Registrations, Hoardings, IT, Establishment, Vigilance & enforcement,Land,Accounts etc.

- There is a great variation in work tasks n the job includes official as well as field work.

-As far as the perks n previleges are concerned they are following:
*1000cc car in grade 17
*House if u want to have which is quite spacious n is present in good location in grade 17
*Up to date offices
* Independence to work with quite reasonable authority


- The cons include:
* Job gets very hectic at times
* There is greater responsibility of what ur deciding or doing

-Promotions:
They are not very slow as is conceived...it might take a bit longer to get into grade 20...but restructuring is taking place...cant say how will it work...but the promotions hardly matter here...u can be working at grade 18 post while being in 17...n enjoying everything.

-Pressure:
It is there at bigger stations but is not as much in smaller ones. No one can force u to do things...

-STP:
STP for this year was of four months plus attachment with the cantt. boards for 15 days....STP takes place at the academy called CIMLA near RA Bazar at lahore...while attachments are done country wide...There are heavy dose subjects in STP but its not very hard and rough...
