If any member have some information regardding [B]STP[/B] of this group (if there is any), please share. Also, kindly share, details about the nature of the service & priviledges & powers of the fresh CSPs in this cadre

Brief about this service group I found is as under:-

The Military Lands & Cantonment Department is headed by the Director General, Military Lands & Cantonments. He is followed in hierarchy by an Additional Director General, assisted by five Regional Directors (i.e. Karachi, Quetta, Lahore Rawalpindi & Peshawar). They in turn are followed by Cantonment Executive Officers and Military Estates Officers.

The domain of the executive officers extends to cantonments in which they perform municipal and quasi-judicial functions. The executive officers have to generate the funds by levying different taxes/charges.

Each cantonment board is headed by a President Cantonment Board who is a serving armed forces officer and the cantonment executive officer is the Secretary of the Board.

Because ML&C group is included again in the CSP cadre; So a post regarding STP, nature of job, priviledges & future prospects in the short run & in the long run about ML&C group is necessary.

A post regarding STP of [B]ML&C group [/B]and its benefits, privilidges & future prospects is requested to all the csps & seniors at forum. So that the civil service aspirants may put this group on right place in priority of service groups.

ihs (Imran Bhai) told to put it at number 11 in his one post in a different thread; however he has not given any further details about this group. Sir A.J. & sir Ammer Khattak's, MS luckydevil (& all csps, seniors) comments on this group will highly be appreciated. Hope that seniors & CSPs may continue guiding us in the future as they made valueable contribution in past.

so for mlnc is concerned,its the top group in perks and priviliges.i had personally met M.E.O and observed his office and facilities.you,ll be given accomodation in cantt.the area of the house given to m.e.o normally uses to be 2 to 3 canals.also there ,ll be numerous servants at your disposal.your facilities (according to the m.e.o) will be equivalent of a general.you,ll be given a vehicle which in my case was a car.you can levy tax on shops and other lands in cantt area.also all the messes and clubs ,ll in your authority.the only draw back is slow promotion and relations confined to army only.

I have heard that CSP's in MLCG are only posted in one of the five major cities i.e. Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, Rawalpindi & Peshawar and not outside these cities.

Can someone confirm that?

And yes, girls can join Military lands and cantonments group. This year we had two seats for Punjab. One of them went to a male candidate and other to a woman.

I have personally worked with these officers, I mean ML&C. I have have studied and designed a solution to moderanize the system.

My comment about this department is:
ML&C group has no charm except a ( Govt Property Dealers).
You will deal mostly with the retired army officials regarding their alloted properties and stuff like selling, buying, transfer etc.
The maximum salary you will get at the time of your retirement is 70,000. and you will be given a nice house and caltex in the start of your career.

There are different designation,
i.e
-Cantonment Executive Officer
-Deputy Cantonment Executive Officer
-Secretary
-Rent Controller.
-Additional Rent Controller

You will have the most illitrate clerical staff. ( 100 % out dated documents and files.).
If i get through CSS i may not join this group.

As such we cant say that one group is better than other . well my dear all groups have their own pros and cons in their respective areas,but each group excercise is jurisdictional powers confered by parent department.so we can say that some of groups have discretionary powers for instance DMG.PSP so on and so forth. well if u want to opt one group between PASS and ML&C so i will prefer nd recommed you to opt for pakistan accountant genearl service

Clerical staff is the same type in every department.

so far as MLC and PAAS are concerned, I would go for PAAS( Pakistan Audit and Accounts Services)

There are some outside those cities too. i think where there are cantonments there will be jobs available for this cadre. I have seen the house of an MLC person in Nowshera Cantt.

According to my info Privilege for this group include:

1) 1300cc car in BPS-17 - Higher in all groups
2) House with servants - large house in comparison to all other groups
3) Authority to float,process and accept different kind of tenders

disadvantages include:

1) relatively slow promotion ( Up to 19/20 grade):0
2) relatively small social circle

Its job better than Accounts, Postal, Commerce and Railways. One has to deal with Retired or Active Army officers of high ranks for allotment of lands, houses, administration of cantonments, tenders, no doubt its job where you can flourish great influential social circle. Its Military Burecracy whom you will be dealing with.

One of my known person was inducted in this group in 90s, he made not less than contacts of IG, having great influence in Police, whenever he needs help, he just calls to that city's Incharge of ISI or Army, and those guys gave him respect. Making millions, having government cum armed forces cars, with house in prominent cantonment, dealing and living with high repute officers, playing golf with Generals, enjoying every facility to army, WHAT ELSE one needs?

sorry bro, your entire post is a farce. 70,000??? my godness...even the DG is paid like 40,000....bro, salary is not the main thing...in every department the maximum you can get is 40 or 45...and the different designations you mentioned are also wrong except the CEO...everyone below it is his clerical staff not a CSP...

This is wat ML&C is all about!!!
 

No more guesses....here is a complete n authentic brief about this department:

- Priority wise it was comming 4th for the last couple of years but this time people with 23rd positib are joining it by giving it top most priority.

- Job Nature: Initially U get posted as deputy CEO for which there are only 2 posts in walton and in clifton, as additional CEO in any bigger cantt. or as an additional MEO, or as CEO of a smaller cantt.

- Additional CEO has to perform certain administrative as well as quasi judicial tasks, he also work as rent controller.

-Additional MEO/MEO- is the military estates officer and has to deal with all sort of land matters and litigation in the Cantt. area.

- The cantt. board comprises of different branches headed by the CEO. These include sanitation, horticulture, taxation, legal,engineering, Registrations, Hoardings, IT, Establishment, Vigilance & enforcement,Land,Accounts etc.

- There is a great variation in work tasks n the job includes official as well as field work.

-As far as the perks n previleges are concerned they are following:
*1000cc car in grade 17
*House if u want to have which is quite spacious n is present in good location in grade 17
*Up to date offices
* Independence to work with quite reasonable authority


- The cons include:
* Job gets very hectic at times
* There is greater responsibility of what ur deciding or doing

-Promotions:
They are not very slow as is conceived...it might take a bit longer to get into grade 20...but restructuring is taking place...cant say how will it work...but the promotions hardly matter here...u can be working at grade 18 post while being in 17...n enjoying everything.

-Pressure:
It is there at bigger stations but is not as much in smaller ones. No one can force u to do things...

-STP:
STP for this year was of four months plus attachment with the cantt. boards for 15 days....STP takes place at the academy called CIMLA near RA Bazar at lahore...while attachments are done country wide...There are heavy dose subjects in STP but its not very hard and rough...[FONT="Comic Sans MS"][COLOR="Purple"][/COLOR][/FONT]
