SO HAS SEPARATE ROOM OR NOT. And what about AC in room.

Thats the first time I have seen someone saying that OMG is way better than PAAS, IG, CTG, MLCG. RTCG etc.

I think OMG is better than Information, but certainly not better than PAAS. You may think I am saying it because I am in PAAS, and that I am biased, but I am being objective. Even postal group has more authority and facilities than OMG and PAAS. MLCG also is next to DMG when we talk of facilities. In smaller cities, railways officers also have many facillities.

But yes, OMG is better than information group in terms of promotion prospects. And as far as becoming a federal secretary for an OMG officer is concerned, yes it is technically possible. But just pick up a list of grade 22 officers and see how many of them are from OMG and how many are from DMG. You'll learn reality.

Also, recently the OMG batches have been very large. Promotion will become much slower in the days to come.

In most ministries, SOs have separate airconditioned rooms. rare exceptions are there, though.

In civil service, seniors of any occupational group, are called Sir, not Dear. Hopefully you'll learn that once you join service. However, for the purpose of this forum, you can address one in whatever way you like.

A grade 17 officer of postal has much broader authority and many more human resources working under him than are working under an OMG officer. He also gets a house in smaller cities while an OMG officer always works in Islamabad and getting an official house without paying a bribe is almost impossible. I am sorry for being so realistic. I do not want to offend you or to disappoint you, but I feel its my duty to give you the right picture of things.

Railways also has huge bungalows and officers mostly get official residence. They also get servants for working in their home etc.

And lastly, I never said CTG is better than OMG. OMG is better than CTG as of now. However, if all CTG officers start getting foreign posting, CTG will become better than OMG.
