Dear All/especially CSP officers,

I am a lawyer who is currently working at a corporate law firm. Since last few months, I have been facing a robust urge to go for CSS. I believe that this question has been discussed many times in the past but I would request all of you to please advice me with respect to the following:

1) I agree that money really does not matter in life and especially in CSS, the prestige and honor certainly overthrows the purely pecuniary advantages....... but nonetheless, do you believe that someone hailing from an upper middle class family would be able to survive or manage his/her economic affairs in BPS- 17 salary?

Also, a brief detail regarding present salary/perks of DMG group would be very generous.

2) Is it true that without indulging into any "oopar ki kamai", it is too difficult in CSS to get a good lifestyle in particular, good clothing, good education for your children etc?

Looking forward for your worthy advice.

Regards

1: Money does matter in life. CSS jobs are hard in the beginning if you don't do corruption but if you are strong financially then you can manage.
2: Without corruption you cannot have a healthy family life, this is the bitter truth. But if you have a side business or second job in the evening like teaching etc, then it is possible to have a good lifestyle.

I would suggest you to stay in your profession, try for CSS on the side.
