first of all congratulations on your stupendous success Tashfeen. I know you from this forum, and you were kind enough to correspond while i gave my PMS exams (2013).

i have appeared in CE-14. I think its more of selecting scoring optional papers, because, we see no change, or so to say a little change in marking scheme of compulsory papers, it is the optional papers that decide the fate.

It depends on unforeseeable factors such as number of seats and relative marks of other candidates from your domicile category which vary each year. The closing merit numbers of Sindh-U for PAS during last three years proves this point:
CE-2013: Merit # 34
CE-2012: Merit # 128
CE-2011: Merit # 159
Bottom-line: You just can not target any specific merit number or total score to make it to the desired occupational group. So, try to top the exam. Good luck!

PAS is the top group, merit wise , so naturally it needs more marks than any other group.

PAS is usually the top priority of candidates from Balochistan. Marks keep of varying from year to year. However one needs more than 700 marks in written and more than 170 marks in interview.

To get PAS, you need to be a topper undoubtedly. But the criterion for that is different in all the provinces. It's not necessary that you have to have 700 marks in written and 250 (sarcasm intended) marks in the interview everywhere. Yes, for Punjab there is no refuge from this rule. However, for other parts of Pakistan that's not a necessity. It also depends upon the choices of the first 15 or 20 people in the merit list. If for instance they opt for foreign service or police service the chances of others below them in the list increase.
Then the women quota and minority quota also play their role in deciding the same. Last year the marks were not that high, so people in my province got PAS a bit easily.

Please read the thread carefully and comprehesively. Someone talked about the balochistan domiciled candidates already. It was 700 marks in written and 170 in interview.
