DMG campus name changed
 

[B]Lahore. June 30, 2011:[/B] The federal government has named District Management Group training center of Civil Services Academy after the late Atharuzaman Khan Sher Dil in recognition of his services.

Late AZK Sher Dil was an officer of the DMG and a former chief secretary of Punjab. The training center was earlier called DMG Campus.

Is it a wise decision? There are numerous officers senior to AZK who served Government, had much better name, chief secretaries like HA Majeed(the first CS of punjab who in 1930's topped the civil service exams defeating hindus and sikhs), SI Haq, officers like Shamsher Ali Khan, and many many more, who had and had much better repute. It seems it is a move to make happy his two DMG sons who are playing active role in CSP & DMG association of pakistan. Capt Khalid Sultan, and Mr. Abdul Rauf, both in last few days before their retirement have taken a step which is not appreciable in my opinion

The campus has not been renamed rather it is the lecture hall which has been renamed as AZK Sherdil Hall.For clarity only.
