Infact it doesn’t stop over here on the dissolution of Commissionerate System but many other suggestions of MQM will also be the part of amended SLGO 2001 will be implemented after the roll back of Commissionerate System in near future or before the next elections of local bodies. These suggestions will further marginalize the bureaucracy in the districts. Many administrative and financial powers pertain to revenue and other aspects which officers used to have in Musharaf era are also going to Nazims.

Conclusively the bureaucracy will now fully be dependent on Nazims for even transfereing a peon and allocating a petty fund. Their powers are curtailed even further that bureaucracy in Musharaf’s era had little more powers than those suggested by MQM and will be incorporated in amended SLGO 2001. These new exclusive set of powers have been suggested to President by MQM through governor and President saab has accepted all. Its very hard but allow me to say that Now District Management bureaucracy should learn to play the role of an Office Assistant of Nazim saab. Very sad and disastrous for the administrative structure of our districts.

Dear all,

Again relations between PPP and MQM is undergoing setback. Yesterday,MQM leveled allegations against PPP for the current wave of violence in Karachi. If MQM does not join govt, then what will be future of the commissionerate/local govt system in Sindh?

Regards.
