Difference between Deputy Commissioner and District Coordination Officer?
Can anyone explain that what is the difference between deputy commissioner and district coordination officer? and which post is considered more powerful?
|
Dy. Commissioner is more powerful a position than District Coordination Officer because DC serve as the district administrative head as well as of the magistracy and revenue collection. Difference between DC and DCO: After the Devolution Plan 2001 the slot of DC was changed into DCO and the District Officer was left with the powers of Coordination only. The District Nazim was made the administrative head of his district, in a nutshell, the powerful District officer of the yore lost all his authority to the District Nazim even District Nazim had to write the ACRs of the DCO and District Police Officer. Judiciary was made independent from the District Administration. Though DCO was made the Principal Acounting Officer but owing to the lost of his status, that's not something to be proud of. The rest is history. Regards

what exactly is ACR and what does it stand for ? I have read this abbreviation but couldn't find its meaning |
ACR stands for: Annual Confidential Report.
|
Now there is no District Nazim...what is the powers of DCO now a days? Is he administrative head of district now? and what about judiciary..is it still independent?
Is DPO is serving under DCO now? |
Currently, owing to the great controversy going on in the three provinces of the country, there are more or less a stop gap arrangements. Though I am not sure about Sindh and Punjab, but, in KPK the pre-devolution system has been revised with its denominations (Dy. Commissioner), under which, Dy. Commissioner serve as the convener of the District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC). So, atleast in KPK the PAS/DMG has re-gained its lost status. Regards

To complement it: ACR is the report of a boss or superior about the duty performance of her/his subordinate officers which is annually submitted to the Establishment Department. Regards |
