Seniors please guide us regarding PAAS...............

The house depends more on links and references, and without any links, its nearly impossible for a PA&AS officer to get an official accommodation in big cities.

In grade 18, vehicles are given to many PA&AS officers but not in 17. However, in case one passes FPOE in first attempt, period in grade 17 lasts for only 7-8 months.

Nauman mentioned that it takes one 7-8 months to clear his STP if one clears his Final Passing out Exam in the very 1st attempt.
He did not say that it takes 7-8 months for promotion to Grade 18 :)

Whats the salary of officers of PAAS, and whats the initial designation???

mb raja dharejo Monday, August 30, 2010 08:17 PM

In STP of PAAS (Near Sui Gas Office Gurumangat Road, Gulberg-III LAhore) you have salary around 24000-House Rent=around 20000/= while in CTP (in CSA Academy Road Near Walton Station Lahore). U will get 17300/= After STP, u r designated as Assitant Director or District Account/Audit Officer. Some person are sent to Military audit and some to foreign embassies. This depends upon your choice. Accountant General/Auditor General of Pakistan usually make this decision with consent of the probationer.

It is not just like that..
I want give you one example:
38th Commoner wil join Civil service in December 2010. He/She will finish STP after about 2 years from the CTP start. then he will be 8-10 months as UT(Under Training officer). At this point he/she has service of about 3 years in total. now he/she will get promotion in charge into BPS-18. but on record he will be eligible for the promotion after 5 years of service. But PAAS officer usually get promotion in charge just like DDOs in Balochistan r on the post EDOs and EDOs on DCO.. vice versa. therefore it is said that PAAS has rapid vertical mobility. Along with that there is also great horizontal mobility..

Dont try to extract the meaning at your own. The period in 17 actually lasts almost 7-8 months after STP i.e. total of around 32/33 months since joining CTP. The officer is given post in grade 18, but he remains in grade 17. For practical purposes, he is a grade 18 officer, but drawing salary of BPS-17.

This is done according to civil servants regulation under which no one can be promoted to grade 18 before 5 yrs of service. however, there is no restriction on appointing one to a higher post before 5 years of service.
