Queries regarding PAAS
 

There are a few queries in mind regarding this group so i want to ask, and seniors are requested to answer them. serving officers in PAAS can answer them in a better way ofcourse.
(Previous threads are too old so i wana get some updated information)
it wud be good if more and more people reply :)

1)Overall opinion regarding this group?
2)What are the responosibilities/ nature of job/environment of AUDit/ accounts officers in BPS 17?
3)how much authority/power, if any, is associated with this group.
4)I heard from someone, that facilities like car is nt given to anyone on BPS 17 but CSPS get it once they get posting on bps 17 because of their sources.
5)what are future career prospects of this group, (as there's horizontal mobility in it, what other opportunities one can have)?
6)I ve heard a lot about nuisance value in this group, so kindly shed some light on it as well..

1. It depends upon psyche of the person concerned; if one is power-hungry, one will not like this group. For me, it is a good group; it has reasonable amount of respect and growth chances.
2. For job responsibilities, you may refer concerned govt manuals. These may be available on the net.
3. Authority depends upon where you are posted; if you are appointed in Accounts departments, you will have reasonable amount of authority. You will have authority over a number of sections dealing with different Govt departments. If you are appointed in audit departments, you would have authority over Audit teams.
4.Yes, car is not provided to BS-17. It is available for a few positions of BS-18 and above of this group. For example, BS-18 of the Accountant General Sindh has a car facility.
5. Growth opportunities are bright; It is one of those groups where promotions are rapid. Generally, officers reach bs-21 and 22.
