Default STP of the Police Service of Pakistan

Assalam-o-alaikum!

Here i am posting the details of the STP of Police Service of Pakistan, as shared by a colleague of mine from the 33rd CTP!

Towards the end of the Common Training Programme (CSA), PSP officers are required to give their perferences for initial postings, i.e. Provinical Allocation (the province where they would prefer to initiate their practical career). It depends on their merit order. Also, one cannot get initial posting in one's own province (as per domicile).

Special Training Programme
Location:
National Police Academy (NPA), Islamabad.

Duration:
Usually the STP of PSP is 9-10 months long.

Subjects and Modules:
1. Stress Management
2. Community Policing
3. Evidence Act, 1984
4. CrPC
5. CPC
6. Pak Penal Code
7. Police Rules
8. Islamic Laws (Hudood etc.)
9. Forensics
10.A number of local and special laws (about gambling etc.)
11. Other subjects.

Country Study Tours:
Usually there are 4 Country Study Tours (1 to each province). Each CST is for 6-7 days at most. Another CST to Azad Jammu
Kashmir is also undertaken (not always).

Physical Training:
1. Drill
2. Physical Efficiency Test
3. Obstacles Course
After the STP is completed, the PSP officers, like other groups appear for the Final Passing Out Exams conducted by the FPSC.....13 papers are there....!

After the Final Passing Out Exams:
Elite Course , for 40 days, at Baidiyan Road, Lahore. Some of the features of the Elite Course are:
1. Unarmed Combat
2. Close Quarter Battle (Ambush etc.)
3. Firing etc.
4. Repelling (Austrian Lizard etc.)

The Elite Course terminates with a Physical Efficiency Test and a Written Test... !

After Elite Course:
PSP officers go for UT-Ship (posted as Under Training Officers in the field).
UT-ship is for a period of 6 months.

Some features of the UT-ship are:
1. Orientation
2. Training in Investigation
3. 15 days attachment with SSP office
4. 15 days attachment with SP (Investigation)
5. 15 days attachment with SSP (Security)
6. 15 days attachment with SSp Traffic

After the UT-Ship:
After the UT-ship is over, the officers report back to the National Police Academy (NPA) for the presentations on their projects (assigned to them during their UT-ship).

Final Interview:
Then the Officers are interviewed by a Senior Official....the interview carries 60 marks. (Matters in determining seniority on the basis of merit).

Fianlly, after the interview, they pass out. So, it takes almost 16-17 months (after the CTP) for PSP officers to get posted as the "Assistant Suprintendants of Police".

ALLAH HAFIZ!

Default Asp Utp

Its great information about PSP Training; but there is no mention of Military attachment specifically carried out by Trainers. Is it right that ASPs are given Captain rank during attachment?

Military Attachment is a part of CTP, all the groups' probationers undergo it. Yes, the trainees are given the rank of a Captain during military attachment.
