Eyesight for police - simple explanation required

I want to clear a question which has been nudging me since I got to know about it as passing standard for police and customs especially i.e. Of a 6/6 eyesight for police and customs with glasses. But there seems to be a minimum standard which is acceptable without glasses and only correcting this minimum standard with glasses seem to be the passing criteria. I have gone through some threads which focused on eyesight but people there have posted the policy and no clear, crystal and straightforward answer is given, just a mix of medical jargon entangled with policy related discussions.

My eyesight is -5 and -5.25 which obviously is corrected via lenses I use with my spectacles. Please guide me on whether it is or is not acceptable as per the standards of police? And if there is any remedy which I can use to correct or make up for this flaw of eyesight like lasik?

Your comments and suggestions in simple language will be much appreciated and will help me for sure.

I also have weak eyesight and I did some research on this a while back.

I don't remember the exact words but someone wrote that the procedures or rules aren't as strict as it used to be and you might still be allowed to join PSP on the condition that you wear spectacles.
