I would like to request my members to let me know the at heart objectives/inception of Police Order 2002. Was it very necessary to introduce a fresh Police Law? What are the reasons of doing so?

Basically there are two important points:

1) Splitting of the Institution into Operation and Investigation Department.
2) Formation of District Public Safety Commission (DPSC).

The spilliting has further destroyed the sanctity of the institution. Operation arrests (on receiving bribe from the affected party) and Investigation releases the criminals (on receiving bribe from them). On the whole, corruption has increased!

If an FIR is lodged against an innocent person, the DPO is unable to help him. Ultimate power lies with the DPO Operation.

The agency has lost its charm.

The District Public Safety Commission (DPSC) was formed to lodge public complaints against Police however due to unco-operative attitude of the police, the department failed. These departments have not been formed properly in several districts.

In the end, I can say, there was no need of such thing. The law have deteriorated the institution rather than enhancing it's efficiency.

I had a lot to discuss on this subject, but can't stay online longer right now!
