When we talk about the Department of Police, a man who is hired as P,ASI (PROBASSIONER) in Police, he gets his promotion right after 3 Years, ( 1 YEAR TRAINING, 2 YEARS SERVICE), I mean when under three is over he is promoted to Sub-Inspector!!

When we calculate as usual, this man reaches to the post of SP(SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE) Within 15 years, surely.
But when we talk about the post of an ASP, who is hired by FPSC through Css. Here I am confused that do they calculate the tenure of training? I mean for how long an Asp will remain as an ASp, when will he become the SP???????? After 1 year of training or 3 years after training! because an Asp is awarded 2 crowns and SP is awarded MOON< and STAR!!?? please clarify it?

Firstly, Bachelor's then preparation for Exam of Css, CTp and STp, then Asp and then SP!! Isn't it a long chain? As compared to the ASI who gets job after intermediate!

Now salary package, An ASI gets almost 7800 in Training! An Asp gets approximately 14000, Why is that much less difference? A man who gets through the toughest exam of Css must be provided with High salary package! But this is Pakistan!!

Naqeeb Ullah sahab, ASI is no compare to ASP. Even if ASP takes 14000pm, he is officially entitled to accomodation,2 guards, jeep with driver. I questioned to one Former IG about ASP`s promotion, he told that every ASP reaches to BPS 21(but BPS 20 is sure) after 16 - 20 years of promotion, unless his service record is too bad. So in terms of promotions, no service offers such attraction as Civil Services does.

as far as ASI's promotion is concerned I know many guys who joined Sindh police in 2002-03 and still none/ very few of their batch mates have been promoted to Sub-Inspector (So getting promoted from ASI to SP in just 15 years is not practical - it takes 20~25 years normally).

There is no comparison of a career track of a CSP (i.e. ASP) with an ASI. That is not to put down the ASI's, they must be duly respected, but this is only to present the comparative career record.

Though I am not senior member as you have requested to seniors to comment, but Its an issue of worth talking thats why I am going to put my comments about the problem which u have raised.

Khan Sahab yar its so Simple .. You can see that a person who enjoys the the designation of Asp in age of 45 to 50 after seving in police department for 20 to 25 years is not as accomodated as a CSP is. Because A CSP officer Enjoy the same Position of ASP in age of 23 to 28 after getting training. So the Ending point of the formally selected people is the starting point of the people selected through CSS.

So the Route of formally selected people can't lead a person to the highest positions, but the exam of CSS can lead u there very easily.

FOR CSP:
Bachelors 2 years
Preparation of CSS 3 years ( it can be varried according to ur ability)
Training period CTP and STP both arround 2 to 3 years.
Now You are ASP within maiximum length of 8 years and are likely to be a SP after 3 to four years which is your starting point of service.


FOR GENERAL:
After passing exam of intermediate have to service atleast for 20 years to become an Asp and 5 to 8 years to become a SP which is your ending point of service.

Conclusion:
There is a wide difference between the two as their destinations are quite different to each other.

I didn't mean to discourage the aspirants to get the lowest post of Asi, rather, wanted to confirm the (UNDER 3 PROCESS) of ASP!!

I do believe that an Asp who is hired on 17 Scale, obviously reaches to 22 Scale. I myself know many of the Csp's (Asp's).
If I am not wrong, Shah says with regard to my Question, that " AN ASP WILL REMAIN ASP UNTILL UNDER 3 OVERS"!!

And dear Zaheer, I didn't mention the facilities of ASI, I just said that salary is very low of an ASP.

Dear NAQEEBULLAH KHAN, You should not compare ASI with ASP. ASI will be servant of all his officers till he becomes SP in 15 years. While ASP is the king and has more respect in the BUREAUCRACY and in society.

No Doubt,there Is No Match Of Asp With Asi..

But The Question Is That A Person Wh Just Passes The 1oo Marks Paper Of A.d(fia Or Ib) Bps-17 Through Fpsc Gets Equal Seat Compared To Asp... It Would Not Be Wrong, If I Say That Ad (fia) Is Big And Powerful Seat Thn Asp..

Moreover , I Dont Know Its True Or Not But I Was Told By A Senior Fpsc Officer That A.d In Fia Or Ib Is Seat For Those Sons,nephews And Family Members Of Big-wigs,(ministers,govereners,chief Ministers,generals) Who Can't Pass Css.
They Used To Come Through These Sort Of Ways,

About Salary

I would just say that if I was supposed to be a rich employee, I would rather like to be in a private firm/bank. It offers more than PKRs 35,000/ easily, with in a period of 2 years or less. I would be least concerned with pay, but Bureaucracy.

Rest of all, the higher salary of a junior rank(ASi) is not only being offer to ASis' but to, other departments as well (i.e. Traffic Police officers etc.)
