Let me clarify one thing. It is not Frontier Corps, but Frontier Constabulary in which ASP's are posted for the mandatory period of one year. Most of the ASPs are posted in Peshawar FC Headquarter, it is not necessary to be posted on the borders.

No attachment is only in areas under the jurisdiction of FC in remote areas and agencies

Only posted in Frontier Constabulary HQs in Peshawar & Islamabad. And the whole batch goes together. No remote areas & agencies.

thank u very much to all of u for ur reply....nd nw like an opportunist(lol) i want to knw a few more things....
i am a ca inter and can start my articles right nw...bt on the other hand i dont want to live a self centered life and therefore by putting at stake my future(nt doing the articles)i hve decided to go for css in 2012...having said that there r a few things that confuse me...(these questions r especially to mr. zohaib and mr. r.i.p(every one else is also welcome to answer these questions) as i myself interested in dmg and psp)
1.first thing is that is civil services gives us a financial security and by financial security i dont mean that i want to have huge sums of money but only that i am able to live e reasonable life(i belong to a middleclass family and i think after 5 or 6 years responsibility of my parents would also be on me to some extent)
2.nd are the powers of dmg fully restored or not and if nt fully restored then are there any chaces of of there restoration in near future?

I would answer briefly as follows:

1. By financial security I am sure you referred to job security which is available in all government jobs. What makes Civil Services an attractive career is the growth associated with the profession. From Intellectual to career, there is a difference in outlook.Consider with this;the facilities available to an officer which makes the pay difference acceptable to some extent and off course the foreign assignments and trainings broaden the horizon and increase the exposure. It is the best of the best.

2. Now coming to your second point about DMG. DMG is a misnomer.Actually it should have been named Pakistan Administrative Service as the case in India where it is Indian Administrative Service in India. Before 1973, Civil Service of Pakistan was there and later it was abolished and DMG was born. The powers of DMG are intact and only Executive Magistracy was abolished in LGO. The DMG Officers just spend a quarter of their service in Districts otherwise they are on the move, horizontal and vertical. Its a versatile group. The Executive Magistracy is restored in Balochistan. In Punjab it would also be restored and eventually the Pre-2001 system will come back.Even if it does not happen,DMG will continue to serve with grace.

(In Sindh and KP some of the judicial powers have been restored to the District Administration)
