normally after how many years an ASP become:
DIG
additional IG
IG

lets suppose if an ASP is 28 years old at the time of his CTP...then at what stage of his age , he will be:
DIG
additional IG
IG

DIG is rank of Grade - 20 and minimum length of service required for promotion to Grade - 20 is 17 years. Remember promotion is subject to the availability of seats it is not necessary that an ASP must have to be promoted in 17 years to the post of DIG.

For Additional IG total required service: 22 years

and for IG according to verdict of SC: The selection for promotion to BPS-22 will be through a high-powered selection board, headed by the prime minister. Daily Times

Assalamulaikum,

Sir An ASP has 2 crowns on his shoulder till 3 years...after that MOON STAR.It's impossible to become proper DIG(BPS-20) in short tenure, any how you can have acting seat of DIG.

He will be around DIG at the age of around 47 to 48 years. It can be less than that if he is given an acting charge of DIG.
As far as the post of Add. IG is concerned, it is now taking up more time after the recent abolishment of the several posts of Add. IGs in Punjab and Sindh. In short, it will now take almost 25 years for an ASP to reach upto the ladder of Add. IG ship. But don't worry, the situation is not so grim as an Add. IG is a very senior officer equivalent to the rank of Major General of Pakistan Army. In Sindh, most of the times, an Add. IG is posted as IG/ 3 star general on an acting charge basis.

ASP.................. 28 yrs old
DIG...................44-45 yrs old
Additional IG.......around 49-50 yrs old

Q..2 agr seat available na ho to kya ap ki promotion ni ho skti???...as above 'XERIC' said that :Remember promotion is subject to the availability of seats it is not necessary that an ASP must have to be promoted in 17 years to the post of DIG.
Q..3 when we posted in other provinces at the start of our career as ASP , if we want to come back our home and if we have some secrity threads , then can we come to our home with our security Guard and driver???

1. SSP......40-42 yrs old approx
Only true if one is getting promotions in time which primarily depends on seniority, ACRs and availabilty of vaccancies. No out of turn promotions (i.e. promotions before stipulated time period).

2. Yes of course.. we are only discussing minimum time frame for promotions.

3. Interesting question.. well mostly it depends on an officer's personal links, guts and relations. One can give call to the concerned officer (SSP/DIG) of one's home district and request him for the provision of vehicle, guard/driver etc. Usually such requests are honored.. so no big deal.

Assalamulaikum,,
Sir let me tell you that DPO is District police officer who are mostly SP's or ASP's. SSP is above than SP.
After first posting you can have home province and town and if you have security risks you are provided offcourse.

etc

as in some threads on forum has discussed about salary of ASP at the time of starting CTP and at the time of his posting after completion of STP, but there are different sayings of every one ,,some said less than 20,000 but some said 25,000-30,000 and also some said more than 45,000. i request u all plzz give reasonble information about salary of ASP at the time of CTP and at the time of his posting in the field. thanks to those who will reply this post.
