The rank of Colonel is a prestigious one. A colonel has many contacts himself in the Civil Service or Judiciary. He can easily ask a court to take action against the DPO. Waysay a DPO would be an idiot if he would lift a finger against someone illegally. He will most likely be suspended or transferred.

they forget their responsiblity n go for roob jamana thing....same goes to civil service.....

there is nothing to get hapy on n there is nothing to be so proud on if one has joined civil service or army.....Allah ka shukar karain kay u r among those people who have been selected to serve for country n people...

think maturely n be responsible to perform ur duties....

every person from every feild is doing perfect n every job is demanding n tough...n it has its own benefits....

remember we all have to give answer to Allah on day of judgement....jitne important position ho ge hisaab bhee utna he tough ho ga...

i think these two professions are very sensitive n tough...

we are 3rd world country we have to progress alot...so forget about roob jharana n making impression....must work out for the betterment of our country
if both has same lavel of prestige ,shashka ,show shaa then why CSS is 100 times difficult and why army officers through army quota come in to css specially PSP?? Even some majors also leave army for css.........

if u compare the test prepration of army n civil service...
army=issb
civil service=css exam

issb selects the candiaite on some particular traits...then PMA grooms a guy into a soldier n then army through various courses train them for their job....it requires alot of health n mental fitness as well...
army is ristricted to some particulr domain...i-e defence n war methods....

if we see civil service....we have to prpepare for 1500 mraks....we have to go through a strict exam n interview n psycholigical tests......it is atleast a year long process..then a candidate is allocated......
during civil service exam one has to prove its mental n intellectual ability to run the governemnt....one has to study alot on almost every field n area...n make one self capable enough to bethe part of civil service....then during training an officer gets tranied and gets more knowlodge....they have to manage the different governmental departmenst n districts...
so the power prestige varies n increases.....

on the contrary army is it self an organization...they have limited cantonments .....they have different culture...life style...which is very good i must say...they cannot enjoy the power at the first day of joining the job....
after some time some officers feel that theyr not for army job then they try for PSP....or some oficer do not see any progress in their military career then they think to join civil service....

army comes under ministry of defence n they have power of bullet....where as bureaucracy has power of pen...so some how bureaucray is more power ful than army because they r under ministry of defence.....a defene secretary holds the position of a bureaucrate which is always an army officer.....

i hope i m clear now

Ms. Wasfa here says that bureacuracy is more powerful than the Army due to the fact that the Army is under the ministry of defence. You should realize that the Ministry of Defence has little or no role in governing the affairs of the army. In fact a defence secretary is appointed according to the will of the army. You are right though that bureacurats have more power BUT only legally.

And guys, sorry to break your bubble, but if you guys think that after entering the civil service you will have so much power that people will bow in front of you then I'm afraid you will be disappointed. So please guys, try to serve the people. I think our people deserve to live a reasonable life.

The army people might be jealous of civil servants but only if they are of lower ranks. Believe me, a Brigadier or Major General (and above ranks) would never trade his position with a top Bureaucrat, even a Chief Secretary. They are far more powerful in a military establishment like ours. In fact, even top politicians are afraid of Lt. Generals. After all, they can be posted as the DG ISI.
