SSP verses CAPTAIN in Army
 

dear members, do share your experience about the powers of SSP and CAPTAIN, and compare the perks & previliges given to these both OFFICERS and does CAPTAIN dominates the SSP?:glare:

Captain has no match with ssp, u can compare colnel with ssp, i m of the view that ssp is more influential than a colnel of army even this is my view n others may disagree,

no one can dominate SSP in today's world

Absolutely CSS is peerless,and there is no comparison between captain and SSP.You can compare SSP with colonel.

Today my brother went to his friend who is captien Dr in navy forces. He was living in a 2 bed flat it was luxurious and well furnished.My brother told me about his luxurious living. Obliviously there was a tight security. I was thinking whether a AC or SSP enjoys more privileges or a captien does?

haha ,, in pakistan is no one power ful . only money is the power ful .ask from yourself ? why you are in need of power because you are fearful and can not face realities , bit a say harsh realities of life . if ssp is power ful and capitan is powerful , why they are fearful to defeat the taliban . my sincere advice is leave the very topic . it is reality , every body has some price in pakistan . if you are affluent and gave them . they wil salute you . otherwise , they will not . so , mature and leave this matter of power . if you are too much eager to know about the reality , just go to your cpo office and near army garrission . definitely , you will shock to see the brittle ness of every institution .

Well the last post stands not only against logic but the common perception as well. Had money been so powerful, MPAs, MNAs and ministers would not have struggled to get their sons allocated in PSP, PAS. Money might give you feeling of power but its not power at all. All the business men and money wielding people struggle hard to keep terms with DPO,DCO.
There isn't any comparison between captain and SSP. Because captains in army struggle hard and appear in bulk before FPSC to get allocated in PSP and that too at the rank of ASP.
You should compare SSP with Brigadier at least and in my view SSP/DPO has much more influence, protocol, facilities and social recognition.

CSP's are more influent and active than Army officers . They have more powers and authority and particularly public dealing and promotion setup . Every year there are around 600 candidate go in PMA but most of them (90%) are retire in 18 grade (Major) but every CSP goes at least at 20 grade .

everyone join PSP for respect, social recognition, power,serving country and unfortunately some for easy money as well.
Now on these basis we can compare both . an ASP has more social recognition and respect as compared to captain , The thing is that ASP deals with general public because ASP awam k kam aa skta hai, while Captain has only to do with army. The only reason people might respect Captain is because armed forces are considered to be prestigious .But that respect is only limited to the respect of army. while even if someone hates Police , he or she will still respect PSP officer because of obvious reasons .
again same is the case with power, ASP,SP etc have more powers . Powers of captain is limited to army personnel while that of PSP officer is spread in the whole city .
As with salary, I think there isn't much difference .
As with perks etc, as far as I know house an ASP or SP gets is much better than captain in most of the times, Captain doesn't have official vehicle and higher rank army officers might that but that is strictly for official use only while PSP has awesome vehicle .
I am not sure about security of Captain but PSP can get as much or as less guards as he wants. It depend on his nature.
As with serving country, I honestly believe PSP can serve much better . I have great respect for army and I agree that they are the defenders but think individually , captain can be replaced , and initial and replaced captain both would perform same duties . But an honest and dedicated PSP is bit Rare and can't be replaced easily.
Plus Police can easily earn black money while in army it is not possible until higher ranks,
and lastly one can only be promoted upto Major in army and promotion above it is dependent upon personal aptitude and service record but mostly PSP reach DIG at least .

P.S: these points are based on my personal research and opinion etc, I have no army,police background. One may disagree

There is no need to compare officers of Police and Army. They have different nature of jobs.

Further a Captain in Army is a BPS-17 officer, while an SSP is a BPS-19 officer, there is a stark difference of hierarchy/strature.
