Exam was taken by BPSC from US.Test consisted of
1) One English Essay
2) One Urdu Essay
3) One question of abbreviations like NASA,CID,ABC
4) One question of general knowledge consisted of Pakistan affairs and Islamiat
5) One Question of translation.

At that time we consulted WHO is WHO and WHAT is WHAT by dogars publishers , which was quite enough for test
but i also recommend Encyclopedia of General Knowledge by Jahangir publishers is also very goo d

If one is selected as an ASI. He will first report in police line. And he will do general duties including little bit parade.Training order will be done by AIG training on behalf of IG. Then probationers will go for training.After training they will again report in Police line and will do general duties.After few days in capital city SSP admin on behalf of CCPO and in other districts DPO will do orders of A,B,C,D course .Mostly D course is your permanent posting.After A,B,C,D courses you can go any where you like. Like office work,Operation duties,Investigation,Motor way,or even FIA.
Remember Police line is base of police officers. Police Officer if transferred any where they have to report in Police line. Even after suspension of police officer they will go to police line and will do general duties.

Please tell me, is it worth applying for Constable job having Masters Degree despite being severely opposed by nears and dears?
Will he have upper hand in promotion ? Up to which level he can reach? Moreover what is the duration of training for Constables and what kind of training they get?

No brother i don't advise you to go for constable with master degree due to two reasons
1) Constable job is very tough 24/7 job.
2) Salary is very less.
Master degree will bring you no benefit in promotion or pay,however, If department announces ASI for graduate constables then it will be a benefit for you.
My advise for you is that if you are not getting over age then don't go for constable job because for constable continuing studies with job is very tough task. Police job is very different from other departments.
I advise you as a brother study and be the best and become PSP.

A policeman having masters degree can become ASP or DSP on the basis of experience and qualification. There are many opportunities to grow in the department . But it is much better to be a CSP than to be an asp after promotion.

@mazahar you are telling a case in hundred. yes constable can become DSP only after 30 or 33 years of service. And i am also sure Raw Zameer will be more than 50 years old.I think it is not advisable for a person who holds master degree and he should go for a constable job and after 25 years or 30 years he will be DSP.
only few constables promote to higher ranks and others don't even got promote to inspector ranks.

I did not suggest that a person who is capable of passing CSS should join as constable instead I just talked about a specific case.
