Default BS-22 in PSP
How many years of service does it take an officer of the Police Service of Pakistan to make IGP? And to make it to BS-22?

As per understanding, 22 years at minimum are required to get into grade 22. But remember it is a selection post, which means PM selects a person. Moreover it is not necessary to be in 22 Grade to become IGP, AIGP (21st grade) can be promoted as IGP. I think same is the case with current IGP Sindh Iqbal Mehmood

Yes. I know that. One has to work through NIPA, Staff College and Defense College courses, BS-18 onward to be eligible. There is however a minimum span of service that one has to complete while in BS-21 to be determined for BS-22 by the CSB. It is with this confusion I posed the question. Any one having insight in this regard is requested to answer. Nonetheless, thank you.
