Default Question!

Salam Alaykum!

So, apparently I have 3-4 years until I plan to appear for my CSS examinations. Can someone recommend me, how can I get a basic yet simultaneous good grasp on Current affairs and Pakistani affairs.

I don't know where to start, what to do. Please kindly suggest some hints and tips. Also are notes of any help ?

And what is the approximate time duration that one can perfectly get the grasp on these subjects if you dedicate yourself to these two? 2 Months? Half an year, year?

Thanks in advance. :]

Post Current Affairs

Waliakum Assalam(assuming "Assalam o Aaliakum, not Salam Alaykum),

Firstly, stop relying on others' notes, for hundreds of thousands of different aspirants will also have the same notes, which may turn out to be fatal in future. No uniqueness; no "WOW"; and ultimately no marks. #NoOffence

Secondly, read newspapers. Now the question is how to read them? After all, there are tons and tons of news in a single newspaper. I have been trying to cogitate and mediate about this abhorrent conundrum for the past one week, and come up with a some-how dandy way, which is as follows:

For instance, in today's DAWN, on front page, there is a news "RISE OF THE BLACK BANNERS?" You should not start reading the news like a parrot, making small notes and that is it. NO! NEVER! Ask yourself few questions! Like, what exactly is the black banner? What is the reason behind its rise? Any social aspect of it. What is its history, and so forth and so on. The point here is to identify the cause; and then map out its effect and understand the whole scenario.

The major part is what news to be read and what to be skipped. Forget about small, petty news like FALANA POLITICIAN accused DHAMKANA POLITICIAN for rigging etc. Go for the broader picture. Selection of news is the vital part of current affairs.

Chalk down some major events, syllabus essentials and few hot topics, and explore about them in newspapers.

For now, I hope that practice helps you gear up the pace of getting something USEFUL out of different newspapers.

Regards.

Hey, thanks Hawx!
I see alot people recommending others to read " Dawn News", I wonder what's to significant about them? Hmmm

And, do you think I can get a great grasp on these two if I start from scratch? Because, I am not too big politics or rather should I say , poly tricks, haha.

Though, recently I found it quite interesting which maybe a good sign to strive in this endeavor.

Why, thank you IslamabadKid, your feedback is very much appreciated. Regarding the Salam, I believe it's interchangeable but it seems Asalamu Alaikum is correct and would be the best vocal transliteration.

It's amazing, how you have this patriotic spirit that's emanating from your avatar, haha. Also, it's wonderful to have the likes of you who wish to share their experiences and hints with new aspirants. :]

Default Weird!!

If you are taking exam after 3-4 years then why on earth you want to prepare current affairs now?
They are "Current".now
They would be Past events by the time you will take exams.
