sir, i know i can't pass as that exam was first exam i have ever attempted in english and you can judge my work in exam by checking my english written in posts but believe me sir i strongly follow your quote which is,

I'm not the author but look, hardly 2 or 3 new events come up on national fabric every year worhty enough to be asked about in exam. Definitely that would be beyond the scope of this book.

The areas where the book will help you is the past events that either directly or indirectly constitute 3-4 questions in exams. books save you the effort of sorting out these topics in first place, and then collecting material and finally shaping an opinion that would help you to take a stance.

I bought it from G-9 markaz rehan book shop ..... And to be honest i haven't studied much from it yet ... Just gone through few topics , and i am little disappointed , it is seriously lacking "2016" on almost every topic i have gone through e.g Kashmir ,loc situation ?? ?? although its Latest edition but not updated .... Secondly some very important topics for this year are very brief e.g honor killing , panama ... In Short ... As far as i have gone through it , This book is not enough! .. only provides base or bed or history , historical background, or just brief ideas and its very expensive too ....
