The following article is written by the current Minster of State for Revenue, Muhammad Hammad Azhar. It is a good overview of the previous year's economic conditions and the predictions for 2019 along with a brief outline of the government's policies regarding the issues.

It is important to note that economics must always be studied from independent sources since there is a lot of margin for "conscious deception" (e.g you could say that there is 58% literacy rate in the country or instead say that there is 42% illiteracy in the country. Both are correct but both emphasize different sides). Keeping the above in view, I would recommend that you give the above article a through read and then search up independent economic reports on Pakistan and its challenges.
