This is an interesting question. Opinions will vary on this.

My opinion: keep in touch with the news from around the world starting now. However, do it in a casual way. Newspaper reading at this stage should not take more than one hour. Just try to skim through. With time you may develop a liking for the writing style of some writers and read only their columns etc.

By November, you will have developed a good idea about the issues that have been relevant through the year. Focus only on those from then onwards. Many toppers suggest cutting out articles etc to review later.

If you go through the forum you will find the frequently asked topics in current affairs.
These have mainly been Pakistan’s economy, foreign relations, democracy and US-China relations.

That is interesting, I think it depends on the topic, like recently IK went to an SCO summit, so to prepare for SCO you need to start from 2011. In 2019 paper there was a question on energy policy of 2013, which would have been in the news back then.

Here is how to crack it, read news paper from Jan 2019 if you are appearing in 2020. Just read the three small dawn editorials. Watch Al Jazeera inside story and Zara Hut key from jan 2019.
Read Munir akram in Dawn from 2013 because he does all foreign policy issues
Look at the important policy sectors of Pakistan: agriculture, energy, water, health etc. they all have a wiki page with details of all the policies made by the govt. Find the latest policy there and read it.

Also have a look at the government of the time. In 2019 there were a lot of governance questions, but previously there were questions on our maga projects.
Read books that present discussion on contemporary issues like Pakistan at cross roads (chapter 1 only)
Finally, you will never be able to do a 100% prep for CA as it really depends on the examiner on how they question. I would have made a question on the rights of children because that is some that I believe is more important.
