As per my perspective, I think the following topics would be important:
•Kashmir
•Immigrant issue
•FATA merger
•The economic situation of Pakistan
•The US-Taliban talks and Pakistan's role

These are merely broad, general areas from which questions can be asked. I hope others who have a better understanding would contribute to the list.

Website of any newspaper or news channel would be sufficient for current affairs updates. You can install their apps on your phone. Dawn and Aljazeera are highly recommended.

I think climate change is still a hot topic and adding to it ban on plastic and its alternatives
As mentioned in above posts Afghanistan peace process, relation with India and Kashmir issue will also may have weight in CCE 2020
polio cases, Accountability, and political uncertainty, these topics may be well prepared before looking into syllabus.

Does anybody has Kips Current Affair notes by Shahid Wazir Khan? I have heard that they are pretty good.
