Default Current Affairs MCQs

Can someone please help me out with Current Affairs MCQs? I have gone through MCQs of last 10 years and they seem to be 'too broad' for a lack of better word. Would appreciate if current aspirants as well as those who have cleared can guide us on

1)How to prepare for MCQs of Current Affairs
2)Any book which has latest information and/or large amount of solved MCQs

Thanks!

Read daily news papers, mark important events with dates. Read Jahangir's monthly JWT. It contains last month's MCQ's section etc.

Already did this and read other journals too but I am pretty sure this is not sufficient for maximum marks.

Sources for preparing MCQs
Books (Historical Events/Legends/Personalities etc)
Newspapers (Current dates/statistics/names/heads of states etc)
Magazine/Journals (Same as Newspapers)
Internet (Rest of the information which you don't find in newspapers etc)

Method

Reading alone does not help. At least in my case, it does not suffice in attempting to remember the things. One way to record all the information about current affairs is to write it down in a register. Reserve 2 pages for each category i.e Heads of States (Presidents), Heads of Govt. (Prime Ministers, Foreign Ministers, etc.)

Some of the categories in my Notebook are:

* Organizations (their present secretary generals, dates on which came into existence etc)
* International Miscellaneous Personalities
i.e ISAF Commander, NATO chief, Key Diplomats, etc)
* U.N News (Developments at U.N, resolutions etc)
* National Issues (18/19 amendments, energy projects, etc)
and many more.....

While going through any of the above mentioned sources, when I come across any important date/name/event/etc ... I pause reading/watching for a while and note that down in the register. That's the easiest way.

Later, when I am not studying anything, I pick up that notebook and go page by page reading all the recorded information. It's like developing your own little encyclopedia.

I hope it helps.

All the Best!
