alternate way is to make up your mind and start concentration harder so that you can read dawn..it is for your own good..and if by alternative you mean a shortcut then let me tell you there are no shortcuts in life and css...

U have to read DAwn ..it is imp . I think during my CSS prepration readin DAwn Newspaper was the only thing i liked lolzzzzzzzz.
Don't read the whole paper. U can skip the metropolitan etc. Concentrate on International page and Columns + Editorials. After 1 month when u will be habitual of reading newspaper then u will gradually learn the art of skipping useless or less imp news.
And for 2012 CA u need to prepare the following topics.

1- Drone attacks
2- Pak Relations with US, India, China, Turkey etc
3- Revolution in Arab World.
4- Nuclear Proliferation (specially in perspective of IRan)
5- Political Reconciliation in Pak
6- Cricket Diplomacy (as a short note)
7- Global Warming (an evergreen topic )

I would suggest you to prepare Current Affairs in two phases: International issues and National issues.

As regard the International issues you must acquaint yourself well with:
1. Relations of Pakistan with all the four adjacent neighbours as well as its ties with America.
2. Relations of America with Iran, India, China and Afghanistan.
3. Organisations of the world, especially UNO, EU, OIC, SAARC, ASEAN and SHINGHAI CORPORATION.
4. Globalisation.
5. Global Warming.
6. Middle East with special focus on Palestine-Israel issue.
7. New Great Game.

For National issues you must go through the topics like:
1. Corruption.
2. Economy.
3. Water and Energy Crisis.
4. National Integration.
5. Balochistan Crisis.
6. 18th amendment.
7. Media.
8. Judiciary.
9. Democracy and Military regimes
10. Terrorism.

Dear these topics should be prepared in analytical perspective, having full background knowledge of the above topics plus the latest developments.

As far as the source to prepare the prescribed topics is concerned you must avail all the opportunities at your hand, ranging from history books to newspapers, TV Channels and Internet.

Best of luck and also pray for me as I am one of the ambitious aspirants.

Regards . . .

Why concentrating on Dawn is a problem to you, Saima? I think that only reading this newspaper alone can help you sailing in Current Affairs. Focus on Editorials only while trying to make an opinion on domestic and international happenings.
