Need help in Current Affairs
 

Hello members I hope everyone is fine..Members I need your help in preparing current affairs..

How should current affairs be tackled...

I mean there is lots of material in newspaper,magazines etc..

But what points should be taken out and what not..There is no clear direction..

Some friends suggest that in the end I will know the topics so just make files.. etc

Whereas,others suggest that solve past years papers ?If I go for Past years papers strategy then what Qs needed to prepared...?

Please,help me in solving my Problem..

Especially seniors come up with the strategy pleasee...:huh:

to prepare CA is very simple. see how i m preparing.
i have bought a ring-binded register.
searched past papers.
selected most common topics
which are nearly 15 or 17.
made sections of these topiccs.
when i read smthng important about these topics, i write it down in the relevant topic.
just simple

dear amubin, dont be confused C.A is the most easiest and most interesting subject in css. if you have seen current affairs programmes on t.v than i think it must have clear to you which topic is important or which is not. plz watch C.A programmes daily.

now come to the question how it should be tackled?
the answer is simple just follow the syllabus,

1:pakistan relation with its neighbours
2:-pakistan relation with super powers
3:world political problems and their impct on pakistan
4:-pakistan educational problems
5:-organisations and pakistan role in these organisations
6:- current issues of national and international importance.

remember 1 thing donnot crame anything try to make your own opinion for a certain issue and then explain it,remember examiner will check your analytical thinking about a ceratin issue.
clear all your concepts and if you need further clarification just post that question on this forum and you will get a detailed reply of it.

Let me share my C.A preparation strategy with you.It works for me at least.:pp

First of all,reading newspaper and watching current affairs program(to some extent) is necessary.But i don't read news paper daily.


i read online news papers and magazines once a week i.e every Monday.What i do is that i just go through all week's editions and copy any important articles or news related to topics mentioned in the syllabus or past papers.
After a month,i select one day to read those articles/news carefully and jot down important points and happenings in that month with analysis,solutions,causes etc.phir poora month befikar.

But this strategy can become highly effective only if you have know-how of the background of all important issues.
You can consult any book or different sites on internet to get the required knowledge.If possible make your notes and then you can update these notes whenever you want.
It is not difficult at all just treat it like you are reading a novel or story.

If possible,read about some major events occured in the world such as
World War 1
World War2
Cold War
French Revolution
Bolshevick Revolution

And also read briefly about different concepts and theories like
Socialism
Capitalism
Communism
etc

These topics will not only help you in current affairs but they are also very handy for Essay Writing.

Nice examples.. I really like the way you have explained the strategy in order to resolve my current affairs problem..

Will you please give some more examples of major events please.

here are some more major events but don't go into much detail and just stick to those which relates somehow with the syllabus.

The Iranian Revolution

The Cuban Missile Crisis

Establishment of the State of Israel

Arab-Israel war

9/11

the recent chaos in Arab countries

Invention of nuclear weapons

history of Pakistan

Fall of the Berlin Wall

If you want to digitalize your notes and data, you might like the software "One Note" which comes with the MS Office 2007 and 2010 versions.
It makes sections for every topic and sub-topics.

When you find something on internet forexample an article related to lets consider for World War I and you copy that and send it to "One Note", it automatically asks you where to save it.

You tell it to put it in the section of Current Affairs World War I section. It will copy not only the article, but pictures, diagrams with it and also automatically save the web link addresses so you can track the web contents of the same website in future.

So this way, you can even save a lot of material related to every topic you want and then give it a thorough reading.

I don't know to what extent others can take benefit of this strategy but as far as i am concerned,i am satisfied with it.I have devised it as per my own convenience.I don't have much time so i do it in one day.
I don't like piles of newspapers or articles so i do everything online.
I mentioned that i read whole week's editions just in one day.
The main purpose of all this is to prepare for papers.

As far as being updated goes,i watch just news headlines 5/6 times per day apart from 9pm news which gives me fair bit of idea about what's happening.

I watch 12am news headlines at BBC World News...that gives me idea of the top stories in the next day"Dawn".


Yes,the topics are very much relevant to British History But they are equally important for Essay Writing and a bit less important for current affairs.
If you don't know the beginning of any issue,how can you suggest an end of it.I never like "adha adhura"knowledge.And i strive to improve it as much as i can.

I have read British History and got fed up of HenryS and EdwardS.I have also read Islamic History as well.The one i was left with was Indo-Pak,so i opted that.And i am very much satisfied with my choice.
